Tony Coleman defends Putnam City North High School students
September 24, 2013
The suspension of three Putnam City North High School students has been appealed after Oklahoma attorney Tony Coleman says the district violated its own suspension policy. The school failed to send the students home with appropriate core unit materials so they would not get behind in their studies. The students should have been given a designated timeframe to make up lost days including test taking.
The students were suspended following an incident at a high school football game, where they were not allowed in the stadium because it was too full. They were asked to leave. The students then got into a physical altercation with the Putnam City campus police resulting in their suspensions.
